You know that feeing walking through a fair, that warm feeling with all different sorts of folks around, banjos and acoustic guitars, delicious smells in the air, rides, games? That is the feeling of Sebastian and the Deep Blue’s new album Plastic Parts.
Listening to it, I find myself picturing people in red and white carnival outfits with big black mustaches holding hooked canes. I imagine large, spinning, lit-up wheels with people held to them by centrifugal force. I imagine rings thrown toward empty but heavy milk bottles.

Ok everyone, I know I haven’t posted anythig in a long time. I was feverishly working on mixing our upcoming record. After a few missteps here and there the record is finally done. I am extremely happy with how it turned out. Soon I will finally be able to leave the dreary basement to see the light of the rain filled october sky. Soon enough I say.
Hello Everyboday!
We gave doug a fantastic send off party, now he is on his way to serve in the peace corpse. That means that this month we will have a new guy on the saxophone at the end of this month. We met up for the first time last night and he has got skills. So lets show him a great first show with the Deep Blue. Thanks so much!
In other news the album is about half done as far as tracking. Which is very exiting, and everything is sounding fantastic if I do say so myself. I will keep you posted as things develop.
Thanks and stay happy
We are playing this Friday the twenty fifth at the Folk Life. We are on the Vera stage at five! Then after that we are playing the Rogue and Peasant for Doug’s final show before he heads out to the Peace Corps.
Hope to see you all out!
Hey all,
Sebastian and the Deep Blue are playing at the Rogue and the Peasant. Come down and have a good time with us!
Below is some tape from our last show a brand new tune called Teeth.
Well I have finally posted the Deep Blues first home studio recording. I am pretty happy with it all things considered. ”The Climb” was the first of the a long series of songs we will be releasing from the home studio. I started writing the song in December had hoped to get it done by February but March looks like it was destined to be march. This is also Emily’s first studio track ever so that is pretty monumental in itself. Please check out “the Climb” and please re post it if you feel it worthy.
thanks
Barry
